The Netherlands-based asset manager has closed its eighth European-focused private equity fund.

Waterland Private Equity Investments has raised €2.5 billion for Waterland Private Equity Fund VIII, according to a recent press release by the firm. The fund closed on its hard-cap after three months of fundraising.

The fund will invest in medium-sized companies based in Europe, such as in France and DACH. Waterland Private Equity Fund VII, the fund’s predecessor, closed in August 2017 and raised €2.06 billion.
