PSP Investments, Ontario Teachers' partner in CeramTec buy

A consortium led by European private equity firm BC Partners has agreed to acquire CeramTec Group, a Plochingen, Germany-based supplier of advanced ceramic products. Canadian pension funds Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan hold a stake in the consortium. The deal's financial terms were not disclosed; however, a source told Reuters it values the company at 2.6 billion euros (US$3.1 billion), including debt. CeramTec is being sold by Cinven, which acquired it in 2013. BC Partners' Stefan Zuschke said the consortium sees potential in growing CeramTech organically and through acquisitions.
