UBS, the Swiss investment Bank, has appointed Lok Lee to head up its European high-yield and mezzanine capital markets business. He will be a managing director, reporting to the global head of leveraged finance and high-yield and loan capital markets, Edward Massaro.
Lee joins from Accela International, the San Francisco-based Asia-focused investment firm that he co-founded. Prior to that he worked in London as JP Morgan’s head of European high-yield capital markets, and has held roles covering the same sector at Deutsche Bank.
UBS has not historically been one of the larger players in the European high-yield market, but is hoping to grow its franchise.
Commenting on the appointment in a statement, Massaro said: “Lok brings with him a wealth of experience of the High Yield Capital Markets in Europe and his presence will greatly strengthen our High Yield and Mezzanine Capital Markets franchise.”
