Advent International boosts Paris team

The firm is one of numerous mid-market firms swelling its ranks to capitalise on continuing deal activity in its market segment.

Global mid-market firm Advent International has recruited Alice Escoffier as assistant director in its Paris office from global investment firm 3i.

Escoffier is the latest recruit to Advent’s Paris team since it appointed Nicolas Maurin as an associate last September.

At 3i in Paris she focussed on corporate and industrial sector transactions. Before joining 3i she worked in ING Barings’ acquisition finance department in Paris.

Last year, Advent’s Paris office bought discount retailer Stokomani and financial derivatives software company Sophis for undisclosed sums. The two transactions were carried out in conjunction with Advent’s Boston office.

The European mid-market has been recruiting actively since the New Year as deal flow continues at the smaller end of the buyout market. Earlier this month Palamon Capital Partners recruited Valerio Boccardi, formerly of Magenta Investmenti, as a vice president. In late February Nova Capital Management appointed Mike Nevin as an investment partner.
Advent promoted seventeen members of its team globally in January following an active year. It won the Private Equity International Awards Fundraising of the Year nominated by our editorial team for raising a record $1.3 billion (€841 million) Latin America fund. Our readers also recognised this same fundraising effort as it won Latin American Private Equity Firm of the Year. In Europe, it was a runner up in second place as European Mid-Market Firm of the Year.
