American Securities in $1 bln-plus Emerald deal: UPDATED

American Securities LLC has announced an agreement to acquire specialty chemicals company Emerald Performance Materials LLC from private equity peer Sun Capital Partners Inc. People familiar with the matter put the value of the deal at more than $1 billion.
