Ginko leads funding of Cedexis

Cedexis, a provider of Internet measurement and optimization software, announced it has raised $22 million in Series B funding. Ginko Ventures led the round, with participation from Foxconn, Nokia Growth Partners, Citrix Systems Ventures and previous investors Advanced Technology Ventures and Madrona Ventures. The company has now raised round $33 million in total funding.

Jitterbit racks up $20 mln in KKR-led round

Alameda, Calif.-basedJitterbit Inc, which develops open source data integration software for the enterprise, announced that it has raised $20 million in a Series B round led by KKR. The company previously raised $5 million in strategic funding from investors, including Salesforce, Autodesk and Primera Capital. As part of the Series B round, KKR executive Vincent Letteri will join the company's board.

IVP hires associate

Menlo Park, Calif.-based late-stage investor IVP announced that Michael Miao has joined the firm as an associate. Miao previously worked on the strategic finance team IVP portfolio company Dropbox.

IVP leads Series C funding of big data company Qubole

Mountain View, Calif.-based Qubole, a big data-as-a-service provider, announced it has raised $30 million in Series C financing. IVP led the round, which included existing investors CRV, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Norwest Venture Partners. As part of the funding, IVP General Partner Somesh Dash has joined the board. The company has now raised $50 million in total funding, including a $13 million Series B round in late 2014.

Canadian machine-learning startup raises Series A

Waterloo, Ontario-based machine-learning company Maluuba announced it has raised C$9 million ($6.2 million) in a Series A funding round from Emerillon Capital, Nautilus Ventures and undisclosed strategic investors. The company has now raised C$12 million ($8.3 million) in total funding. As part of the round, Brian Kang, managing director of Nautilus, and Ludovic Andre, managing director of Emerillon, have joined the board.

Norwest raises another $1.2 bln fund

Norwest Venture Partners, an investor in Misfit, Lending Club and Skybox Imaging, has closed its third consecutive $1.2 billion fund.

Cloud computing company Luminal raises $20 mln, changes name to Fugue

Frederick, Maryland-based Luminal announced it has changed its name to Fugue, the same name as its cloud operating system, raised $20 million in a Series C round of funding. New Enterprise Associates led the round, which includes previous investor Core Capital. The company has now raised $34 million in total funding.

Cyber security company Appthority raises $10 mln

San Francisco-based Appthority, a provider of mobile enterprise security services, announced it has raised $10 million in Series B funding from existing investors U.S. Venture Partners and Venrock, as well as new investors Blue Coat Systems and Knollwood Investment Advisory. The company previously raised $6.25 million in a Series A round in 2012.

Foursquare checks in with $45 mln financing

Jeff Glueck, the newly appointed CEO of New York-based Foursquare, announced via a Medium post this afternoon that the company has raised $45 million in equity funding led by Union Square Ventures. Other investors included Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners, DFJ Growth, Andreessen Horowitz and Spark Capital. In addition, co-founder and CEO Dennis Crowley is moving to an executive chairman position, following the CEO appointment of Glueck, who had been serving as COO.

Shasta leads funding in Boomerang Commerce

Mountain View, Calif.-based Boomerang Commerce, which provides smart pricing solutions for retailers, has raised $12 million in a Series B funding round led by Shasta Ventures. Existing investors Madrona Venture Group and Trinity Ventures also participated in the round. The company has now raised $20.5 million in total funding.
