Allakos secures $10 mln

Biotechnology company Allakos has secured an additional $10 million investment from current investors to fund the development of an additional therapeutic antibody. All of the company's current investors participated including Novo Ventures, Alta Partners, RiverVest Venture Partners and the Roche Venture Fund.

PineBridge commits to Capital Índigo

PineBridge Investments has committed to Capital Índigo, a private equity firm based in Mexico City. PineBridge has committed to the firm’s fund Índigo I FICAP, which is focused primarily on growth-equity and mezzanine investments in Mexican mid-sized companies.

CIVC Partners has acquired KPA Services. KPA provides environmental, health, & safety compliance and human resource management solutions to over 5,000 automotive, truck and equipment dealerships, and service companies.

Heliatek completes Series C

Heliatek has completed a series C financing. The round was led by AQTON SE with participation from existing investors Bosch, BASF, Innogy Venture Capital, Wellington Partners, eCAPITAL, HTGF and TGFS.

Magma raises $150 mln for Fund IV

Israeli tech firm Magma Venture Partners has closed Magma Venture Capital IV on $150 million. This fund is the successor of Magma's third fund raised in early 2012.

Gramercy backs Grupo Credivalores

Gramercy Funds Management has made a $34 million investment in Credivalores-Crediservicios. The business is an independent consumer finance company in Colombia.

LAVCA appoints to board

The Latin American Private Equity & Venture Capital Association has added two new board members, Carlos Garcia, co-managing partner and chairman of Victoria Capital Partners and Alfredo Castellanos Heuer, senior managing director of Evercore Mexico Capital Partners. Garcia and Castellanos succeed J. Scott Swensen, co-founder of Conduit Capital Partners, and Arturo Saval, managing director of Nexxus Capital, who completed six-year terms on the LAVCA board.

HarbourVest reports 7 percent NAV increase

HarbourVest Global Private Equity Limited (HVPE) has reported a 7 percent NAV increase during the financial period ended July 31, 2014. During the peirod HVPE committed $316 million to newly-formed HarbourVest funds including international fund-of-funds and a global balanced fund.

Dunedin boosts team with new hires

UK mid-market private equity house Dunedin has appointed Lorna Eltringham as investor relations manager and Jessica Hardy has been appointed as an analyst. Dunedin’s David Williams will join Ross Marshall as a senior partner of the firm.
