Pachyderm bags $10 mln in Benchmark-led round

Pachyderm, a big data company, has raised $10 million in funding, according to a post on the Soma Capital website. Benchmark led the round.

AdaSky locks in $20 mln

Israel-based AdaSky, a provider of far-infrared technology for self-driving vehicles, has secured $20 million in funding. The lead investor was Sungwoo Hitech Co. Ltd.

Renalytix AI lands $29 mln

UK-based Renalytix AI plc, a developer of artificial intelligence-enabled clinical diagnostics for kidney disease, has secured $29 million in funding. The investors were not named.

Software startup Kaloom locks in $10 mln

Montréal and Silicon Valley-based Kaloom, a software startup, has secured $10 million in funding. Fonds de solidarité FTQ and Somel Investments led the round with participation from MBUZZ Investments. This funding raises Kaloom’s total investments to $20.7 million.

Cadent Therapeutics rakes in $40 mln Series B

Cadent Therapeutics, a developer of therapies focused on movement and cognitive disorders, has raised $40 million in Series B financing. Cowen Healthcare Investments and Atlas Venture led the round with participation from Qiming Venture Partners, Access Industries, Clal Biotechnology Industries and Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research. In addition, the company has appointed Dr. Bob Dagher as chief medical officer.

Standard Cognition procures $40 mln Series A

San Francisco-based Standard Cognition, a provider of AI-powered autonomous checkout solutions for brick and mortar retailers, has raised $40 million in Series A funding. Initialized Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included CRV, Y Combinator and Draper Associates.

Apex.ai nabs $15.5 mln Series A

Apex.ai, which is building an operating system for self-driving vehicles, has raised $15.5 million in Series A funding, according to a blog post. Canaan led the round with participation from seed backer Lightspeed.

OMERS-backed Purpose Financial leads Series A round for d1g1t Inc

Toronto-based d1g1t Inc, an enterprise financial technology company serving the wealth management industry, has raised over C$9 million in Series A funding. Purpose Financial, which is backed by OMERS, led the round. Other investors that participated in the round included Extreme Venture Partners and Portag3.

TCV promotes Ansari to GP

TCV has promoted Nari Ansari to general partner, according to an announcement by the Menlo Park, California-based growth equity firm. Ansari joined TCV in 2006 and currently serves on the board of directors at HireVue, OneSource Virtual and Watermark.

Cancer screening startup Ezra picks up $4 mln seed

New York City-based Ezra, a cancer screening startup, has secured $4 million in seed funding. Accomplice led the round with participation from other investors that included Founders Future, Credo Ventures, Seedcamp and Esther Dyson.
