Blackstone Group is launching a growth investing unit and has hired Jon Korngold to lead the platform, the Wall Street Journal reported. The BX unit will take stakes in companies in the phase of development between early stage venture capital and buyouts, the story said. Korngold is a former managing director and global head of financial services at General Atlantic.
