Aqua Capital has acquired 70 percent of Rech Agricola. Financial terms weren’t announced. Rech, of Brazil, is a distributor of spare parts for agricultural machines. The Collins Group Inc provided financial advice to Rech Agricola.

Craftsman Capital buys CMIT Solutions

Craftsman Capital has acquired CMIT Solutions. Financial terms weren’t announced. CMIT, of Austin, is a managed service provider of enterprise-level information technology services to the small and mid-market business community.

Oak Hill Capital, Pamlico to recap Vast Broadband

Vast Broadband said Jan. 9 that it is buying NTS Communications from Tower Three Partners. Financial terms weren’t announced. NTS operates a fiber network spanning more than 2,700 owned route miles that includes more than 60,000 homes and businesses in Texas markets of Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene, Midland and Wichita Falls, and markets in Louisiana. Once the NTS deal closes, Oak Hill Capital Partners and Pamlico Capital are investing in Vast via a recap. Vast provides high-speed broadband, video, and voice services. Bank Street Group LLC provided financial advice to NTS. SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Inc and TD Securities (USA) are providing debt financing.

Blackstone-backed Exeter Finance files to go public

Exeter Finance Corp, a Blackstone portfolio company, has filed to go public, according to regulatory filings. Exeter, a subprime auto lender, plans to trade on the New York Stock Exchange. How many shares Exeter will offer and their price range are expected in future filings.

Carmel Partners Fund VII raises $1.28 bln

Carmel Partners said Jan. 9 that its seventh fund, a U.S. multifamily real estate value creation pool, closed on $1.28 billion. Carmel targets multifamily investments, including development, renovation and debt in U.S. markets including the metro areas of the San Francisco Bay Area, Southern California, New York, Seattle, Denver, Washington D.C. and Honolulu.

JMI Equity invests $40 mln in RainFocus

JMI Equity has made a $40 million growth investment in RainFocus. The Lehi, Utah company provides an event marketing platform.

Kotzin joins General Atlantic as operating partner

General Atlantic said Jan. 9 that Justin Kotzin has joined the firm as an operating partner and head of debt capital markets. Kotzin most recently held a number of senior positions at Morgan Stanley, most recently serving as managing director in the leveraged & acquisition finance syndicate group.

Shorehill Capital buys Functional Devices

Shorehill Capital LLC has acquired a majority stake in Functional Devices LLC. Company management and Ken Rittmann, Functional’s prior owner, also invested. Financial terms weren’t announced. Functional Devices, of Sharpsville, Indiana, makes relays, power supplies, transformers, sensors, enclosures and wireless devices utilized in the HVAC, building and lighting controls and energy management industries. Madison Capital Funding LLC and Maranon Capital LP provided financing support. Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP served as legal adviser to Shorehill and Ice Miller LLP served as legal adviser to the seller.

Bedell joins HireVue as CFO

HireVue said Jan. 9 that David Bedell has joined the company as its CFO. Most recently, Bedell was vice president of finance and investor relations at Instructure.

Roth joins Ares Management

Ares Management Corp said Jan. 9 that David Roth has joined as a partner in the Ares Real Estate Group and head of U.S. real estate private equity. Most recently, Roth was a senior managing director at Blackstone.
