CenterGate Capital has invested in Naumann/Hobbs Material Handling. Financial terms weren’t announced. Naumann/Hobbs Material Handling, of Phoenix, is a material handling equipment platform with a suite of products and services.

Dougherty joins Roland Foods as CEO

Roland Foods LLC, a portfolio company of Vestar Capital Partners, said Sept. 9 that Keith Dougherty has joined the company as chief executive officer. Tyler Hawes, who has led Roland since the retirement of former CEO Jim Wagner this spring, will continue to serve as president. Dougherty was most recently senior vice president, merchandising, pricing & inventory at Essendant Inc.

Platelet BioGenesis raises $26 mln

Platelet BioGenesis Inc said Sept 9 that it raised more than $26 million in a Series A round co-led by Ziff Capital Partners and Qiming Venture Partners USA. Existing investors Nest.Bio Ventures and eCoast Angels also participated in the round, among others. Platelet BioGenesis has developed a platform that can generate human platelets at scale.

Vim raises $24 mln

Vim said Sept 9 that it raised $24 million in a Series B round led by Optum Ventures. The round also included investments from Premera Blue Cross and follow-ons by Great Point Ventures and Sequoia Capital. Vim, a healthcare platform, aims to align incentives between payers and healthcare providers.

Providence Strategic invests in MAPAL Software

Providence Strategic Growth, the growth affiliate of Providence Equity Partners, has invested in MAPAL Software. Financial terms weren’t announced. MAPAL, of Madrid, develops and supplies management and business analytics software for the restaurant and retail sectors.

CPPIB invests $115 mln in Delhivery

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has invested $115 million in Delhivery Pvt Ltd. Financial terms weren’t announced. Delhivery, of India, is a third-party logistics provider.

Fortress to buy Vannin

Fortress Investment Group is buying 100 percent of Vannin. Sellers include Bramden Investments, the PE fund from DLA Group. Vannin is a litigation funder that had sought to go public in 2018, the Financial Times said.

Private equity interested in KKR's LGC Group: Bloomberg

KKR’s potential sale of LGC Group has attracted several PE firms as well as Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc and Danaher Corp, Bloomberg reported. Firms including Blackstone Group Inc, Carlyle Group LP, CVC Capital Partners and EQT Partners are weighing offers for LGC which could fetch more than $2 billion including debt in a sale, the story said.

Permira, Advent seek to buy Symantec for $16 bln: Wall Street Journal

Permira and Advent International have made a joint approach to buy Symantec for more than $16 billion, according to press reports. The deal values the maker of Norton antivirus software at about $26 a share, the stories said.
