SmartBear, a Francisco Partners portfolio company, has acquired BitBar. Financial terms weren’t announced. BitBar provides a mobile app test automation platform and device cloud. Shea & Co advised SmartBear.

VillageMD raises $100 mln

VillageMD said Sept. 4 that it raised $100 million in a Series B funding round. Kinnevik AB, which led the round, invested $75 million. Returning investor Oak HC/FT along with new investors Town Hall Ventures and Adams Street Partners participated. VillageMD provides primary care for organizations moving toward a primary care-led, clinical model.

CORE Industrial Partners buys Fleco Industries

CORE Industrial Partners said Sept. 4 that it acquired Fleco Industries Inc. Financial terms weren’t announced. Fleco, of Carrollton, Texas, provides lighting solutions and operates nationally through multiple brands, including Saylite, Texas Fluorescents Reinvented, Mobern, Lights Fantastic, Lights Fantastic Pro, Lite and LFP Lighting.

Valeo Foods to buy Campbell's European Chips business

Campbell Soup Co said Sept. 2 that it agreed to sell its European Chips business to Valeo Foods, a portfolio company of CapVest Partners LLP, for about 66 million pounds (approximately $80 million). Campbell’s European Chips business includes UK-based Kettle Foods Ltd and Netherlands-based Yellow Chips BV. Barclays and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP advised Campbell Soup. David Arnold of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP represented CapVest/Valeo.

CPS Performance Materials, a portfolio company of Arsenal Capital, said Sept. 3 that it acquired GEO Specialty Chemicals. Financial terms weren’t announced. GEO supplies specialty chemicals and materials to the coatings, adhesives, medical, water treatment and construction markets.

Garden Bar, a portfolio company of Elevate Capital, is merging with Evergreens. Financial terms weren’t announced. Garden Bar, of Portland, makes and sells salads.

J2 Acquisition to buy APi Group for $2.9 bln

J2 Acquisition Ltd said Sept. 3 that it agreed to buy APi Group Inc for about $2.9 billion. APi provides commercial life safety solutions and industrial specialty services. J2 Acquisition is a SPAC set up by former executives of U.S. consumer products firm Jarden, according to press reports.

Accel-KKR-backed Kerridge Commercial to buy MAM Software Group

Kerridge Commercial Systems, a portfolio company of Accel-KKR, has agreed to buy MAM Software Group Inc for $12.12 a share or about $154.2 million. MAM Software provides on-premise and cloud-based business management solutions for the automotive parts, tire and vertical distribution industries.
