Alterna Haircare, which is backed by TSG Consumer Partners, said Tuesday that Katie Holmes has invested in the company. Alterna did not disclose how much Holmes invested or how big of a stake she has. Alterna provides "luxury" haircare products such as anti-frizz conditioners and shampoos.

Shopko, which is backed by Sun Capital Partners, said Friday it has promoted Jill Soltau to the position of President and Chief Merchandising Officer. She was previously Shopko's EVP and chief merchandising officer. Green Bay, Wis.-based Shopko is a retailer that operates almost 350 stores in 22 states.

Palladium Equity Partners said Wednesday that it has recapitalized Hy Cite Enterprises. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company's founding family and management team also took part. Madison, Wis.-based Hy Cite offers a line of cookware and household products, including home cookware systems, air purification and water filtration systems that are sold in the U.S., Mexico and other international markets.
