Pestell Nutrition, a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners, said Nov. 25 that it acquired Premier Ag Resources. Financial terms weren’t announced. Premier Ag, of London, Ontario, distributes specialty pet food ingredients and feed additives across Canada and the U.S.

Scribd raises $58 mln

Scribd said Nov. 25 that it raised $58 million in funding led by Spectrum Equity. Scribd is an unlimited reading subscription service that provides access to books, audiobooks, news and magazine articles, documents and more.

Paytm raises $1 bln funding: press reports

Paytm, an Indian payments company, said Nov. 24 that it raised a new round of funding from new investors including funds and accounts advised by T. Rowe Price Associates Inc among others. Existing shareholders such as Ant Financial, Softbank Vision Fund, participated in the round as well as Discovery Capital. Paytm did not disclose the amount it raised but press reports pegged the funding at $1 billion equity at a $16 billion valuation. Paytm is in talks for another $1 billion in debt, Bloomberg said.

Schwab to buy TD Ameritrade in $26 bln deal

Charles Schwab Corp said Nov. 25 that it agreed to buy TD Ameritrade in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $26 billion. With the sale, TD Ameritrade’s board said it has suspended its CEO search, naming Stephen Boyle, TD Ameritrade EVP and CFO, as the company’s interim president and CEO.

Kelleher exits BB&T as bank regulators approve merger with SunTrust

Bruce Kelleher, head of investment banking at BB&T, has left the IB after more than a decade, three sources said.

Branford-backed Drew Foam buys Davis Core & Pad

Drew Foam Companies Inc, a portfolio company of Branford Castle Partners LP, has acquired Davis Core & Pad from Joel Davis. Financial terms weren’t announced. Davis Core, of Cave Spring, Georgia, is an EPS foam shape molder. Davis Core’s packaging products are used in markets such as consumer perishables, IT products and office furniture.

Novacap Industries V raises C$940 mln

Novacap said Nov. 21 that its latest private equity fund closed on C$940 million ($706.4 million). Novacap Industries V will invest in the industrial and manufacturing sectors as well as in service and distribution.
