Clever said it raised a $10.3 million Series A round led by Sequoia Capital. The round was joined by Y Combinator founder Paul Graham, Y Combinator President Sam Altman and Deborah Quazzo of GSV Advisors. Sequoia Partner Bryan Schreier will join the board.

Cisco Systems said it contributed a $6 million investment to the Badia Impact Fund to support early-stage companies in online, mobile, health care, e-commerce, consumer Internet and digital media sectors in Jordan. The Badia Impact Fund is also backed by the European Investment Bank, the King Abdullah Fund for Development and Silicon Badia's parent company Accelerator Technology Holdings.

Benchmark Capital has raised $34 million for its latest Founders Fund, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The filings show Benchmark raised $22.75 million for Benchmark Founders' Fund VIII and $11.3 million for Benchmark Founders' Fund VIII-B.
