Quantenna Communications, a California-based company that deals in wi-fi based home entertainment, has closed a $21 million Series E financing round. The funding was led by new investor DAG Ventures, with existing investors Sequoia Capital, Sigma Partners, Southern Cross Venture Partners, and Venrock Associates also contributing. Nicholas K. Pianim, managing director with DAG Ventures, now joins the Quantenna board.

OpGen, Inc., a Maryland-based commercial phase genomics company, completed a $17 million Series B round of equity financing. The new round of financing was led by jVen Capital with participation from the company’s other major investors, including CHL Medical Partners, Highland Capital Partners, Mason Wells Biomedical and Versant Ventures. Evan Jones of jVen Capital has been named as executive chairman of OpGen’s boards.

SciQuest Inc. has started trading its shares under the ticker “SQI” on Nasdaq. The Cary, N,C.-based provider of on-demand strategic procurement and supplier enablement solutions raised $57 million through its IPO. (It sold 6 million shares for $9.50 each.) Funds associated with Trinity Ventures hold a 35.9 percent stake in SciQuest after the offering, according to an SEC filing on Sept. 22. In addition, funds associated with Intersouth Partners hold a 15.4 percent stake, while River Cities SBIC III LP has a 5.1 percent stake. Shares of SciQuest recently changed hands at $12.56, up 32.21 percent, on volume of 1.8 million shares.

Edison Ventures, a private equity firm based in Lawrenceville, NJ, is investing $4 million in Premier Healthcare Exchange, an Edison, NJ, healthcare company. Premier’s customers include Government Employee Health Association and HCC Life Insurance Company. The Belgian federal holding company has invested “a substantial amount” in the Open Sky Technologies Fund, according to the European Space Agency. The OSTF is managed by Triangle, a high-profile European venture capital firm founded by Uli W. Frick. It was established in March and aims to fund start ups that use technology originally developed for space.

CytomX Therapeutics, a San Francisco-based biotechnology company, has completed a $30 million Series B financing round, the company announced. The round was led by Third Rock Ventures with help from the Roche Venture Fund. Warburg Pincus has led an investment of R$350m ($201m) in Omega Energia, a Brazilian Energy firm. Omega, which was formed in 2008, is involved in buying small hydro power plants. Warburg worked in conjunction with Tarpon Investimentos, the current controlling shareholder of the company.
