Skyvision Raises $25 Million

Skyvision, a UK-based provider of IP services over satellite and terrestrial fibre optic systems, has raised $25 million from Citi Venture Capital International. Skyvision owners Cyphertech and Shamrock each retain a 30% equity interest.

Alvine Pharma Raises $21.5 Million

Alvine Pharmaceuticals Inc., a San Carlos, Calif.-based developer of therapeutics for autoimmune and gastrointestinal diseases, has raised $21.5 million in additional Series A funding. The round now stands at around $47.5 million. Panorama Capital led the expansion tranche, and was joined by return backers InterWest Partners, Prospect Venture Partners, Sofinnova Ventures, Black River Asset Management and Flagship Ventures.

Shutterfly Buys Tiny Pictures

Shutterfly Inc. (Nasdaq: SFLY) has acquired Tiny Pictures, a San Francisco-based provider of applications and services for picture and video sharing. The entire deal is valued at less than $3 million. Tiny Pictures had raised nearly $13 million in VC funding from Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Mohr, Davidow Ventures.

Perfecto Mobile Raises $7 Million

Perfecto Mobile, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based provider of access and automated testing solutions for mobile devices, has raised $7 million in second-round funding. Return backers include Carmel Ventures and Vertex Venture Capital.

Steve Weisner Joins Evergreen Pacific, Will Open LA Office

Steve Wiesner has joined Evergreen Pacific Partners as a senior vice president. He will open a Los Angeles office for the Seattle-based firm. Weisner previously was a director at Lincoln International.

Oak Hill Raises $1.13 Billion for Distressed Debt Fund

Oak Hill Advisors has closed a new distressed debt fund with $1.125 billion in capital commitments. The fund began making investments last October.

GreenBytes Inc., an Ashaway, R.I.-based developer of data storage appliances, has raised $8 million in Series A funding from Battery Ventures.

DFJ Esprit Raising Two New Funds

DFJ Esprit has held a €70 million first close for its third European venture capital fund, which is targeting €150 million. LPs include the European Investment Fund, Finnish Industry Investors, Partners Group, JP Morgan, LGT Group and Harbourvest. DFJ Esprit also has raised £170 million for its inaugural secondary fund.
