The Spotless Group, a European home care business owned by AXA Private Equity, has bought Dylon International from the Mayborn Group for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 1946 in the UK, Dylon’s focus is on fabric dyes and household products under the Dylon LS, Lord Sheraton and Oust brands.
Yann Bak, an investment manager at AXA Private Equity, said: “This acquisition is a perfect fit for the two companies. The deal will make Spotless the second largest player in the UK fabric care market and extends the presence of Spotless Group’s brands in other countries.”
Spotless Punch UK will have total sales in this region of €45 million.
Most of Dylon International’s brands are in the two core categories of the Spotless Group’s brand portfolio, Bak said.
Within fabric care, Dylon is known for its whiteners, colour run removers, stain removers and ironing aids. In the household segment, Oust, an all-purpose de-scaler and a limescale remover, and Lord Sheraton, wipes and sprays for leather, wood, metal and glass, are two of its key brands.
