Axon Partners makes two senior hires

Swiss advisory firm Axon Partners has made two senior hires as it looks to bolster its placement and investor relations teams.

Axon Partners, a Swiss-based alternative assets advisory firm, has strengthened its internal team by hiring Joseph Porterfield as a partner in its placement team, and Magdalena Nowak as head of project management and investor relations.

Porterfield was the former head of Probitas Partners’ European operations, and before that a director at AIG, an American insurer. At Probitas, he was responsible for researching and sourcing general partner placement mandates.

Novak was previously head of investor relations for Innova Capital, a Poland-based buyout firm that focuses on Central and Eastern Europe. Axon was the placement agent for Innova/4, the firm’s latest €225 million ($300 million) fund.

Under the terms of Novak’s appointment, Axon will also assume responsibility for Innova’s investor relations function.

Dominik Meyer, managing partner at Axon, said: “These hires complete our team and we are delighted to attract two individuals of this talent. With his broad client relationships on both the LP and the GP side Joseph will significantly enhance our placement services, whilst Magda is a great addition as we would like to assure highest quality service to our clients”.
