Susan Balloch has left New York-based Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe’s investor relations group to join The Blackstone Group’s private equity division.
She has 20 years of related industry experience. Before her tenure at Welsh Carson, Balloch was a managing director and chief administrative officer for Credit Suisse’s global investment banking and private equity division. She was also a managing director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, as well as an adjunct professor and executive-in residence at Columbia Business School.
As an executive director at Blackstone private equity group, Balloch will be responsible for “overall management and administrative aspects of the group’s activities”, the firm said in a statement.
Tony James, president of Blackstone, and Garret Moran, head of Blackstone’s private equity group, are also DLJ alumni. James was chairman of its banking business before the firm was acquired by Credit Suisse, and Moran was the head of its merchant banking division (and later the head of Credit Suisse’s private equity business).
