Capital Dynamics promotes New York exec

Cynthia Duda has become a managing director at the Switzerland-headquartered alternative asset investment consultant and private equity investor.

Capital Dynamics has promoted Cynthia Duda, a member of its investment management team, to managing director.

Duda joined the asset manager’s New York office in 2006, having previously headed alternative investments for the North Carolina Retirement System. Prior to that, she was a managing director of the private equity fund of funds for BancBoston Capital.

“Cynthia’s promotion reflects her contribution to the success and growth of Capital Dynamics, particularly in the US. We are very pleased to have such an experienced team of professionals, which is essential for guiding the firm towards further expansion,” Thomas Kubr, Capital Dynamic’s chief executive, said in a statement.

The firm's New York office was opened in 2003 and has six investment professionals; its San Francisco office was opened in 2006 and has a two-person investment team.

The Switzerland-headquartered firm’s US client base includes the Washington State Investment Board, AIG and Prudential Financial.

It also has offices in Zug, Switzerland, London, Birmingham and Hong Kong and manages more than $20 billion (€12.7 billion) in fund commitments.
