The Carlyle Group has raised $169 million to date for its Carlyle Asia Growth Partners V, per a SEC filing. The Washington DC-headquartered firm has set a $1 billion target and began fundraising in 2016. The SEC filing did not disclose whether the capital raise constituted a final or interim close.
Its previous fund raised $1.04 billion in 2009.
Investors that committed to Carlyle Asia Growth Partners V include the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
The fund will target growth equity opportunities in a diverse number of sectors in the Asia-Pacific.
