Child safety seat maker Carfoldio gets boost from investors

Israeli-based Carfoldio Ltd, maker of a child booster seat sold under the mifold brand, announced it has raised $1.8 million in total funding. The funding includes a $600,000 seed-stage round in August 2013 from Scott Tobin, general partner at Battery Ventures; Yair Geller, founder and owner of advertising agency Geller Nessis Leo Burnett Ltd; Howard Socol, former CEO of Barneys, New York and JCREW; and additional individual investors. More recently, the company raised $1.2 million in a Series AA round in January led by London-based JamJar Investments, the venture fund managed by the Innocent Drinks co-founders. Many of the seed investors returned for the follow-on round, along with new investor The Missri Group, an Israel investor.
