Brynwood names Doug Gillespie head of Harvest Hill Beverage Company  

Private equity firm Brynwood Partners appointed Doug Gillespie president and chief executive officer of its portfolio company Harvest Hill Beverage Company known for its Juicy Juice brand. Gillespie joins Harvest Hill from Jarden Corporation where he became the president of Jarden Home and Family North America. Brynwood Partners VII L.P. formed Harvest Hill Beverage Company in 2014 to buy Juicy Juice from Nestlé USA, Inc.

Accordion Partners taps ex-Viacom exec to lead new accounting practice

Finance consulting firm Accordion Partners launched their Financial Accounting & Advisory Services (FAAS) practice, to provide operational accounting, performance improvement and technical accounting support. Rich Medor, formerly an operational executive at Viacom, will lead the new practice group as managing director.

Gridiron Capital promotes two to vice president

Gridiron Capital, LLC announced the promotions of two new vice presidents, Christopher M. King and Douglas J. Rosenstein. Since joining Gridiron, King and Rosenstein have been responsible for sourcing and evaluating potential investments and participating in deals for new portfolio companies.

Merck Global Health hires new head of VC investments

Merck & Co's venture investment arm, Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, appointed Francesca Domenech Wuttke as a managing director. Wuttke, who previously led Almiral, S.A.'s medical M&A team, will oversee venture capital investments, with a focus on digital healthcare innovation.

Summit Partners hires software CEO

Summit Partners hired Brian Provost for its Executive-in-Residence program. Provost, the former president and CEO of tax compliance SaaS company Convey Compliance, will work together with Summit's Technology team to identify investment opportunities in growth-stage software companies.

Hansen named Chairman, Interim CEO of OnX companies

Dave Hansen was named Chairman and interim CEO of the OnX companies, which include OnX Enterprise Solutions, OnX Managed Services and Momentum Digital Solutions. OnX is backed by Marlin Equity Partners. Hansen succeeds Michael Cox, who retired as OnX CEO at the end of April after three years. Hansen joined Marlin Operations Group, backed by Marlin Equity, as an Operating Executive in 2015.

Black Diamond hires Robert Simon to lead Bayou Steel Group

Black Diamond Capital Management, L.L.C. announced the hiring of Robert Simon as CEO of the Bayou Steel Group, which produces and sells long carbon steel products in North America. Simon previously led the structural and rail division of Steel Dynamics, Inc. Also joining the company are Alton Davis and Jim Howe as president/COO and VP of sales, respectively.

Fifth Third hires William Tyson as co-head of capital markets

Fifth Third Bancorp hired William Tyson, formerly of BB&T Capital Markets, as co-head of Fifth Third Capital Markets. Tyson will focus on strategic mergers and acquisitions, as well as developing the bank's relationship with private equity companies.

Flare Capital adds two executive partners, hires MIT healthcare econ professor

Healthcare tech VC firm Flare Capital Partners appointed Gary Gottlieb and Phyllis Gotlib as executive partners. Gottlieb is currently CEO of Partners in Health, a provider of health services in poor countries, and Gotlib was co-founder and CEO of iMDsoft, an adult-care tech services company. MIT economics professor Jonathan Gruber also joined the firm as chair of its industry advisory board.

BlackArch Partners hires managing director to help lead defense unit

BlackArch Partners named Pete Bilden as managing director and co-head of the firm's aerospace, defense and government services industry practice. Bilden, a former U.S. Army captain and helicopter pilot, was previously managing director at Stone Key Partners and an investment banker at Goldman Sachs.
