Viisights picks up Series A

Tel Aviv-based Viisights, a developer of behavioral understanding systems for real-time video intelligence, has secured US$10 million in Series A funding. Canadian venture firm Awz Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Firstime Ventures. The capital will be used for sales expansion, establishing a global presence, product enhancements and new product developments.

UAVenture Capital Fund backs StimAire

StimAire, a medical device company focused on treating sleep apnea, has secured an undisclosed amount of funding. The investor was UAVenture Capital Fund.

Winterlight Labs takes in funding

Toronto-based Winterlight Labs Inc, a developer of artificial intelligence to help healthcare professionals assess and analyze patients' cognitive health, has secured C$5.6 million in funding. Hikma Ventures, the venture capital arm of Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC, led the round. Other investors that participated in the round included First Star Ventures, Pacific Health Ventures and Grey Sky Venture Partners.

BREIT completes Bellagio real estate assets acquisition

Blackstone Real Estate Income has closed its previously announced acquisition of the real estate assets of the Bellagio from MGM Resorts for $4.25 billion in a sale-leaseback transaction. As part of the deal, MGM Resorts has leased the property from the joint venture and will continue to manage, operate and be responsible for all aspects of the property on a day-to-day basis. The acquisition was made as part of a joint venture led by BREIT, in which the company had 95 percent stake while MGM Resorts had a 5 percent stake.

Genstar-backed Mercer Advisors buys RIA

Mercer Global Advisors Inc, which is backed by Genstar Capital, has acquired Camarillo, California-based AL Hewitt, a wealth management firm. No financial terms were disclosed.

HKW acquires JMFA

HKW has acquired Houston-based John M. Floyd & Associates Inc, a provider of software and consulting solutions designed to optimize overdraft programs for regional/community banks and credit unions. No financial terms were disclosed. Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP served as legal counsel to HKW while Foley & Lardner LLP did likewise for JMFA.

Oaktree, Greenspring and USC are hiring

Vista's VCG opens Singapore office

Vista Consulting Group, the affiliated consulting arm of Vista Equity Partners, has opened a Singapore office. The new office will serve as the Asia headquarters for VCG.

Hanover Partners buys Westside

Hanover Partners has acquired Madera, California-based Westside Equipment Company, a maker of tomato harvesting and pistachio harvesting equipment, as well as related aftermarket parts. Greyrock Capital Group co-invested in the transaction alongside Hanover and Westside management. No financial terms were disclosed.

Food tech startup 2ndKitchen scores $4.35 mln seed

Chicago-based 2ndKitchen, a food tech startup, has closed its seed funding round at $4.35 million. The investors include Hyde Park Venture Partners, MATH Venture Partners, Great North Labs, Bragiel Brothers and M25.
