DOCOMO Backs Siimpel

Siimpel Inc., an Arcadia, Calif.-based maker of integrated optical microsystems, has raised an undisclosed amount of VC funding from DOCOMO Capital, the corporate venture arm of NTT DOCOMO. The company previously raised around $73 million from firms like otorola Ventures and return backers DFJ, Global Catalyst Partners, Portage Venture Partners, Scale Venture Partners, Sun America Ventures and Zone Venture Partners.
