Drug maker Valeant appoints Schiller as interim CEO

Drug maker Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc has named Howard B. Schiller as interim CEO. The appointment is effective immediately. Schiller is Valeant's former chief financial officer. Prior to joining Valeant, Schiller worked at Goldman Sachs where he served as chief operating officer for the company's investment banking division. Valeant's current CEO J. Michael Pearson is on a medical leave of absence.
