Eclipse Ventures announced through a press release the final closing of its third venture capital fund, Eclipse Fund III, at $500 million. The fund raised its target amount and far surpasses the size of its predecessor, Eclipse Fund II, which held a final close in January 2017 with $183.77 million in commitments. Eclipse will use capital raised by its latest fund to invest in full-stack technology companies throughout the United States.
The Palo Alto firm invests with the goal of providing tech companies with the necessary resources to address issues throughout various sectors including transportation, infrastructure and healthcare.
