Epic Games lands about $1.25 bln

Cary, North Carolina-based Epic Games, a creator of video games, has secured about $1.25 billion in funding. The investors were KKR, ICONIQ Capital, Smash Ventures, aXiomatic, Vulcan Capital, Kleiner Perkins and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The Raine Group and Guggenheim Securities LLC are serving as financial advisers to Epic Games on the transaction while Smith Anderson is providing legal advice.
