Esprit Capital Partners, a UK venture capital firm, has recruited Cédric Latessa to its London office as an investment manager. Latessa will focus on investments in the telecoms, technology and media sectors.
Latessa was previously an associate at BIP Investment Partners in Luxembourg, where he was responsible for identifying and appraising potential deals in the telecoms and healthcare sectors.
Before that, he worked at Paris-based venture capital firm FCJE, at Madrid-based Milenio Capital Partners, and at Luxembourg-based Mangrove. He has also worked at European Investment Fund, an EU-sponsored fund of funds.
Based in London and Cambridge, Esprit has more than $500 million under management. It was created in July 2006 when Cazenove Private Equity merged with Prelude Ventures.
The firm’s recent deals include fraud software business Neteconomy, which it sold in March to IT provider Fiserv for an undisclosed amount. This week Esprit also arranged a €15 million financing round in portfolio company Kiadis Pharma, which develops treatments for bone marrow diseases and cancers.
