Flying Fish holds $27.8m first close

The Seattle-based firm's debut vehicle will target early-stage Pacific Northwest startups.

Flying Fish Partners reeled in $27.8 million for its debut venture fund, Flying Fish Partners I, soaring over one-third of the way towards its $80 million target.

The Seattle-based firm will make seed and Series A investments of $500 thousand to $5 million in the Pacific Northwest, focusing on machine learning, software and artificial intelligence startups. Flying Fish has already invested in seven portfolio companies out of this pool of capital.
