Former Credit Suisse exec joins Lowenstein Sandler

Edward Nadel, former director of alternatives at Credit Suisse, has been named senior counsel to the law firm’s investment management group.

US-based law firm Lowenstein Sandler has named Edward Nadel, former chief compliance officer of Star Mountain Capital, as senior counsel to the firm’s investment management group.

At Lowenstein Sandler, Nadel will counsel clients on fund formation and structuring, fund transactions and regulatory and compliance matters. Nadel had been at Star Mountain for only six months, where he was also the firm’s general counsel with responsibility for all legal and compliance matters including negotiating fund investments and coordinating Star Mountain’s investment adviser registration. 

Prior to his time at Star Mountain, Nadel was the director of alternative investments at Credit Suisse, where he was responsible for the structuring and development of private equity funds, hedge funds, mutual funds, joint ventures, funds of funds and employee plans.

Nadel also acted as interim chief operating officer of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, Credit Suisse's leveraged buyout private equity group, and supported all fund formation activities for DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, DLJ Investment Partners (mezzanine private equity), DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners, Credit Suisse Strategic Partners (secondary fund of funds), as well as fund of funds Customized Fund Investment Group.
