Globis Capital Partners raises $322m

The Tokyo-based investment firm closes its sixth venture capital fund.

Globis Capital Partners has held a first close of Globis Fund VI at JPY36 billion ($321.8 million; €284.8 million). The fund is expected to be closed in June with the fundraising target of JPY37.5 billion ($335.2 million; €296.6 million), and it focuses on technology sectors in Japan.

Major investors of the fund include Development Bank of Japan, SMRJ (The Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, JAPAN), Tokio Marine Asset Management and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co.
