Gresham boosts team with ex-Rothschild banker

Mark Blower joins the firm as investment partner in Manchester, having previously run teams for NM Rothschild and Lloyds Acquisition Finance.

UK mid-market firm Gresham Private Equity has hired Mark Blower, former head of NM Rothschild’s Leeds team, as an investment partner. He will start work for the firm on Monday on deal origination and investment in Yorkshire and the North East from Gresham’s Manchester office.

Blower was most recently head of the Northwest region for

Lloyds Acquisition Finance. During his five years at Lloyds, he backed a number of mid-market deals, including Gresham’s investment in the dining chain Individual Restaurant Company, Gresham said in a statement on Wednesday.

Gresham primarily invests in UK mid-market deals valued up to £100 million (€112 million; $163 million). The firm’s last deal was the July 2009 £20.75 million buyout of five business units of Formation Group to create James Grant Group, a company that provides various services to those in the sports, music and entertainment sectors. 

Gresham has offices in London, Birmingham and Manchester and is led by managing partner Paul Marson-Smith.
