Investor Growth Capital appoints president

The venture capital arm of Nordic industrial holding company, Investor AB, has named veteran Stephen Campe as president. Henry Gooss will retire from the position and become a senior advisor.

Investor Growth Capital has promoted the co-head of its US venture investing group, Stephen Campe, to president, effective from the start of December.

Campe succeeds Henry Gooss who will remain as a senior advisor to the firm.

Investor Growth’s new president has been with the company for more than ten years, during which time he led investments in medical device and diagnostics companies. He was previously with global consultancy McKinsey & Company.

Investor Growth Capital is the venture capital arm of Nordic industrial holding company Investor AB. It is listed on the Stockholm stock exchange, and has offices in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, New York and Palo Alto.

The venture group was formed in the mid 1990s and targets minority investments of $3 million (€2 million) to $30 million in the information technology and healthcare sectors.

Investor Growth Capital’s portfolio exceeded $1.1 billion in value as of 30 June.

Investments to date in 2008 include Swedish television company AirPlusTV, Beijing-based outbound travel services provider ByeCity and US medical device company Cayenne Medical.
