Kleinwort Capital expands investment team

The London-based private equity firm has made its third hire in the last six months.

UK lower mid-market private equity firm Kleinwort Capital has appointed Aatif Hassan as an associate.

Hassan has joined Kleinwort Capital from Close Brothers Corporate Finance and, prior to that, PricewaterhouseCoopers.

In his previous roles, Hassan has acted as strategic adviser to management and advised on mid-market buy-side M&A deals, including due diligence proceedings, deal origination and financial modelling. Hassan is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

The firm also said in a statement that it expects to expand its team further over the next 12 months. Hassan’s appointment is Kleinwort Capital’s third hire in the last six months: Sam Watkinson joined as investment director in June, and David Ramsey followed as investment manager in October.

London-based Kleinwort Capital has £300 million (€438 million) under management and has a portfolio including Hat Trick Productions, European Telecommunications & Technology (ETT), Discovery Group, Video Arts and Kangol.

Founded in 2001, Kleinwort Capital focuses on lower mid-market private equity investments of between £10 million and £100 million in the media, technology, healthcare and specialist manufacturing sectors.
