Mercury opens India office – exclusive

The placement agent and advisory firm has also made seven promotions including two to partner.

Mercury Capital Advisors has opened an office in New Delhi to add to its deal origination and project management business.

The advisory firm and placement agent is staffing its latest Asia office with a vice-president and an associate, Alan Pardee, managing partner and co-founder, told Private Equity International. The pair are consultants and the firm expects to formally hire them in due course.

“They are great global project management team members and happen to be in India,” Pardee said.

New Delhi is the firm’s 10th office globally. It also has outposts in Tokyo and Singapore.

The firm also made seven promotions including Luke Sanders and Donal Mastrangelo, both New York-based, to partner. Sanders is a member of the firm’s origination team, while Mastrangelo is head of US iFunds distribution, Mercury’s online platform that allows limited partners who want to invest as little as $100,000 to access alternative investments.

Mercury spun out from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2009 and has raised capital for firms including Coller Capital and Castle Harlan, according to its website.
