Nordic Capital head of capital markets departs – exclusive

Mark Bulmer, an 11-year veteran of the European private equity stalwart, has decided to resign to explore new opportunities.

Nordic Capital‘s head of capital markets and a partner in its investor relations team has left the firm, Private Equity International has learned.

Mark Bulmer, an 11-year veteran of the European private equity stalwart, has decided to resign to explore new opportunities, a spokeswoman confirmed. London-based Bulmer, who has more than 25 years’ private equity experience, had established Nordic’s capital markets team.

“Mark has been a highly appreciated colleague and we are very grateful for all his contributions over the years,” the spokeswoman said. “During the last 11 years, [Bulmer] has contributed to the growth and success of Nordic Capital and he has been instrumental in building our capital markets team and in the creation of building a more powerful organisation supporting all investment processes.”

Christof Ratjen, who joined the firm in 2011, was appointed partner and head of capital markets in January. He is based in the firm’s London office.

It is unclear where Bulmer’s next move will be.

Nordic is investing its €4.3 billion Nordic Capital IX fund, which closed above target in May, according to PEI data. Fund IX’s recent deals include the acquisition of Danish IT infrastructure firm Conscia and orthopedic implants maker Orchid Orthopedic Solutions.
