NVM appoints managing director

Martin Green will take up the role of managing director at UK lower mid-market private equity firm NVM. He replaces Alastair Conn who recently stood down after 20 years in the role, to take up the position of financial director at the firm.

Private equity firm Northern Venture Managers (NVM) has appointed Martin Green as its managing director.

Green has been with NVM for four years, managing its investment teams in Reading and Newcastle. He’d previously worked two years for Montagu Private Equity subsidiary Montagu Capital, before which he led 3i’s Midlands investments.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity of leading the next stage of the company’s development. My appointment as managing director is the latest stage in a carefully planned transition from the original management group who founded NVM in 1988,” Martin Green said in a statement.

Green replaces Alastair Conn, who has taken up the position of financial director at NVM.

Lower mid-market-focused NVM is owned by its employees following a management buyout from the Aberdeen Asset Management in December 2003.

NVM manages approximately £175 million in alternative assets, focusing on investments of between £2 million and £10 million in unquoted UK companies. All five of the firm’s funds are listed on the London Stock Exchange, including four venture capitalist trusts
