Ottawa not doing enough to make Canada a clean energy leader: report

A new report by Clean Energy Canada said that the federal government is not doing enough to promote Canada’s transition to an energy-efficient, ecologically responsible and prosperous low-carbon economy. Tracking the Energy Revolution, published to coincide with the UN Global Climate Summit, estimates that US$207 billion was invested in clean energy projects worldwide in 2013, with China leading this activity. Canada last year had the second-fastest growing clean energy market in the G20, with investments totaling US$6.5 billion, however, "that success has come without benefit of significant federal policy support," the report said.
