Platinum Equity closes small-cap fund on $1.5bn hard-cap

Platinum Equity Small Cap Fund is the firm’s first fund focused on opportunities in the lower mid-market.

Platinum Equity has held a final close on its inaugural lower mid-market fund, Platinum Equity Small Cap Fund, on its $1.5 billion hard-cap.

The fund will pursue the same type of operations-focused investments as its larger fund – and will focus exclusively on the lower middle market, complementing the firm’s $6.5 billion buyout fund Platinum Equity Capital Partners IV, which is focused on larger transactions.
