PolyTechnos kick-starts ColorChip

Israel-based ColorChip develops passive and active optical chips for applications in optical communication networks.

Enabling Technology LP, a fund advised by PolyTechnos Venture-Partners GmbH, has invested in Israel-based ColorChip Inc. as part of a $6.5m private round of seed financing. EuroFund Partners 2000 and The Walden Group, both based in Israel, also invested in the round.

ColorChip develops passive and active optical chips for applications in optical communication networks based on dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM). Its products manage high-speed data communication at the optical level where data channels are represented by different wavelengths or “colours”.

Chief executive Dr. Shimon Eckhouse and chief technical officer Prof. Shlomo Rushin of Tel Aviv University School of Engineering, founded the company.
