Proskauer has hired Oliver Rochman, Nigel van Zyl and Kate Simpson as partners in its London-based Private Investment Funds Group.
Rochman, van Zyl and Simpson focus their practices on the structuring of private equity and infrastructure funds, co-investments, and carried interest tax arrangements. The partners also advise on transactions related to the restructuring of investment funds and fund managers.
Rochman and van Zyl join Proskauer from SJ Berwin, while Simpson comes from Kirkland & Ellis.
Proskauer has significantly expanded its presence in the UK over the past few months in part to increased fundraising activity, a growing secondaries market and regulatory changes on the horizon, said a spokesperson for the firm.
The firm recently welcomed to the London team Russell Carmedy and Michael Nouril, who focus on private equity and M&A matters. Other recent additions include Peter McGowan, who joined to advise on EU regulatory matters and Jennifer Wheater, who handles private equity tax issues.
Proskauer’s corporate department has more than 240 lawyers advising clients on financial transactions and regulatory matters.
