Rakuten invests $300 mln in Lyft
Rakuten Inc. said Thursday it has agreed to buy an 11.9 percent stake in Lyft. Rakuten said it is investing $300 million as lead investor of Lyft’s $530 million series E investment round. Other investors of the E round were not disclosed. San Francisco-based Lyft, a car-sharing app, has received backing from Andreessen Horowitz, Mayfield, Founders Fund, Coatue Management, Third Point Management and Alibaba.
