Rapisarda joins Ariadne

The former Nomura executive’s brief will be to raise a co-investment fund for Julie Meyer’s new venture.

Ariadne Capital Ltd, the recently launched pan-European venture group specialising in technology, media and telecommunications, has hired Senia Rapisarda, former Head of Principal Investments in the Communication and Technology Group at Nomura International.

As general partner, Rapisarda will lead the establishment of Ariadne’s proposed co-investment fund, which is subject to obtaining regulatory authorisation. Her responsibilities at Ariadne Capital will be to raise this fund to co-invest in technology, media, telecom companies in Europe.

Rapisarda has more than 10 years of investment banking experience at Nomura, Salomon Smith Barney and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Redevelopment.

During her three years at Nomura, Rapisarda helped manage $300m in investments across 42 companies in Europe, Israel and the U.S.

Ariadne Capital was set up by Julie Meyer, the founder of First Tuesday. The new economy advisory business has been dubbed the “net's next business model” by Industry Standard Magazine.
