RCF to join Fireweed Zinc's $10 mln private offering

Vancouver-based mining company Fireweed Zinc Ltd (TSX-V: FWZ) has launched a private placement financing targeted to raise gross proceeds of up to $10 million, or up to $11.5 million if the deal's greenshoe option is exercised. Resource Capital Funds (RCF), a U.S. mining private equity firm, agreed to join the deal by buying 4 million of the company's common shares. The proceeds will be used primarily for exploration and development activity this year at Fireweed's Macmillan Pass Project in the Yukon, which hosts large zinc-lead-silver deposits. Founded in 2015, Fireweed is led by CEO Brandon Macdonald.
