Real Matters nets $60 mln in new funding, buys Southwest Financial
Real Matters Inc has secured an additional US$60 million to finance organic and acquisition-based growth. The company, which operates a cloud-based technology platform that provides property intelligence to the real estate lending and insurance markets, said the new funds came from its existing investor syndicate. Real Matters' backers include Canadian venture capital firm Whitecap Venture Partners, which last week raised an initial $70 million for its third fund, Radar Capital, Wellington Financial, and other investors. The Markham, Ontario-based company also announced that it has acquired U.S. home equity service provider Southwest Financial Services Ltd for an undisclosed price.
