The Rohatyn Group, an emerging markets focused firm based in New York has hired Gustavo Eiben as managing director. Eiben will focus on TRG’s private markets business which includes private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure and green energy funds.
Eiben joins TRG from Aureos Capital (now Abraaj Capital), where he focused on private equity fundraising and investing.
TRG recently acquired Citi Venture Capital International, the emerging market private equity investment unit formerly owned by Citigroup. The company also has a 60 percent ownership stake in Captial Advisors Partners Asia, a Singapore-based mid-market infrastructure asset management company focused exclusively on non-BRIC emerging Asia markets, and a 50 percent ownership interest in ARCH Capital Management Company a Hong Kong-based asset management company that invests in residential, retail and mixed use real estate projects with a focus on Greater China.
TRG has approximately $6 billion in private markets assets under management, and another $1 billion in liquid market strategies. The company is currently in the market raising an Asian private equity fund, with a $250 million target according to Private Equity International’s research and analytics division.
