Sequoia Capital has raised $899.5 million to date for its Sequoia Capital China Growth Fund IV, per a SEC filing. The Menlo Park-headquartered firm has set a $900 million target and began fundraising in 2016. The SEC filing did not disclose whether the capital raise constituted a final or interim close.
Its previous fund raised $625 million in 2015.
Investors that committed to Sequoia Capital China Growth Fund IV include the Institute for Advanced Study, the University of Michigan and ATP.
The fund will target growth equity opportunities in technology, media, and telecommunications sectors in China.
