Shopify Inks $7 Million in Series A Round
Online retail platform Shopify has raised $7 million from Menlo Park, Calif.-based Bessemer Venture Partners, New York-based FirstMark Capital and Palo Alto, Calif.-based Felicis Ventures. Shopify’s software-as-a-service is designed to provide businesses with easy-to-use e-commerce products. The Series A round will be used to expand its product development and international sales and marketing. The company’s customers include Tesla Motors and Evisu Jeans. Shopify is based in Ottawa, Ontario.
